This is a dark day indeed for the Fable fans out there and sure to upset more then a few casuale players, with the release date set in stone just a week or two ago LionHead Studios has had to delay the release of this download till 2009for what they are saying are unexpected technical difficulties.
Found on an Xbox.com Download & Win ad is this note to the gamers letting us all know: “Due to unexpected technical difficulties, the Fable II: Knothole Island expansion will not be available until late January 2009. As a result, the Fable II, Knothole Island Download and Win, originally scheduled to take place December 22 – 23, 2008, has been temporarily suspended. Please check back for updates. In addition, you can still register for the Download & Win by downloading the free Fable II: Knothole Island registration gamerpic, or by registering via Xbox.com at www.xbox.com/fableIIknotholesweeps. Registered participants will be notified using the contact information provided at time of registration with revised Download and Win Entry Period dates.”
Hang in there fans, i'm sure they cant push the date back forever.
For the lucky guys and girls out there that have beat the hell out of Fable II (and in some cases more then once) there is good news from the Lionhead team and if you have read the post title you know its about the downloadable content set for the 22nd of December.
Eurogamer Reports: Lionhead has told Eurogamer that the Knothole Island DLC for Fable II will definitely arrive on 22nd December, and not 12th December as was first thought.
A spokesperson told us the original date, which we lifted from Xbox.com, was a "mistake". The site now says "mid-December".
Knothole Island costs 800 Microsoft Points (GBP 6.80 / EUR 9.60) and adds a whole new area stuffed full of quests and tricky decisions to explore.
Alongside the DLC will be a co-op patch to enable those with Knothole Island to play alongside those without. However, all Knothole Island content will be off limits unless both parties have forked out for the pack.
On top of that, Lionhead is bestowing some festive gifts on those downloading Knothole Island or the free co-op patch. These include Knight's Boots, Assassin's Gloves, a Weight Loss Potion, collectible book and more.
There's a new Fable 2 patch making its way through Microsoft certification and our friends over at Lionhead Studios made a list (and checked it twice) of all the changes, including the removal of child assassinations.
No firm release date for the patch has been announced, but you can glance over the list of Fable 2 patch fixes after the break. The update, for the most part, will be enthusiastically welcomed by gamers, especially those who experienced those evil Abbot and Charlie bugs. Also, due to controversy stemming from folks which are probably pro-children activists, the patch will make it so that your children can no longer be targeted for assassination.
* The Ritual / Monk's Quest – Fixed the issue with the Abbott becoming unresponsive if you leave Oakfield before he finishes talking. This will fix the problem if you've already hit it, too.
* Rescuing Charlie / Rescue My Baby – After rescuing Charlie, you are now able to interact with objects.
* Guild Cave chest – Resolves any issues with previously inability to retrieve items unlocked from Limited Collector's Edition, website or Chicken Kickin' game. If you've already hit this bug you should now get your items.
* The Spire (Pt2) – No more issues with ship captain being unresponsive.
* The Hero of Skill (Pirate King) – You'll no longer get stuck during Hero of Skill quest (Bloodstone).
* T.O.B.Y. / Trouble In Bloodstone – You'll no longer get stuck during T.O.B.Y. quests (Bloodstone).
* Your child will no longer be chosen as an assassination target.
* Furniture Shop in Albion (Bowerstone) will now always have something for sale.
* Additional unspecified fixes.
Who would have seen it coming. Halo 3 is the most played game on XBL for the week of November 24th.
This could be due to a number of reasons. Broken Matchmaking for Gears 2, COD players are now split between two games or the drop in price of the Legendary Map pack for Halo 3.
Whatever the reason Master Chief has taken back the top spot.

Its no big surprise here but over all it is big news to the gaming world and with the press release below i would guess its a big deal to Microsoft but i knew the 360 had the ability to out sell the PS3 all along and here is the proof some might need to really start to believe.
Microsoft reports: Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system kicked off the holidays with record-breaking console sales on one of the biggest shopping weekends of the year in the U.S. Retailers reported Xbox 360 console sales over the Black Friday weekend were on pace to beat previous years, outselling the PlayStation 3 by a three-to-one ratio and estimating a 25 percent increase from Xbox 360 Black Friday sales figures from 2007.
Strong game sales rounded out a historic Black Friday for Xbox 360, with record-paced software sales continuing for key Microsoft titles, such as “Gears of War 2,” “Fable II,” and “Lips.” Xbox 360 continues to have the highest game attach rate of any console at 8.1 games per console.
“We entered into the Black Friday sales period with cautious optimism, knowing that dollar for dollar, Xbox 360 offers more social entertainment value than any other console on the market,” said Don Mattrick, senior vice president of the Interactive Entertainment Business at Microsoft. “Record Black Friday sales in the U.S., coupled with our existing global install base of 25 million and an online community of more than 14 million Xbox LIVE members, have laid the groundwork for continued global sales momentum in 2009.”
Xbox 360 sales have also surged worldwide since the September price drop, outselling the PlayStation 3 week over week across Europe. Console sales in Europe are up as much as 400 percent, with sales nearly double year over year and reaching 7 million consoles sold this generation.
With a mass-market price point starting at $199.99 worldwide (estimated retail price) for Xbox 360 Arcade, a games lineup of more broad-appeal social titles than any other platform, and the recently launched New Xbox Experience, Xbox 360 is leading the industry and inviting everyone to play.
