'Blade Runner: Enhanced Edition', a modern remaster of the classic 1997 video game Blade Runner, is coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.

BLADE RUNNER remaster coming to XBOX ONE, PS4, SWITCH and STEAM

Originally released in 1997 by Westwood Studios, Blade Runner was one of the most innovative adventure games of its era. Long praised as a master-class in game design for its painstaking recreation of the sci-fi cinematic masterpiece, the game delivered an unforgettable gaming experience with groundbreaking graphics, an original musical score, and a canonical branching narrative seamlessly interwoven with the events of Ridley Scott’s 1982 feature film.

Once lost for years and only recently coming out of retirement, this seminal game will soon become widely available to a whole new generation of gamers around the world. Fans of the cult classic can expect a polished and premium restoration from Nightdive using their proprietary KEX game engine, which has been used to restore classic video games across all digital platforms including System Shock: Enhanced Edition, Turok, Turok 2: Seeds of Evil, Blood, and Forsaken Remastered. Nightdive has also sourced the original foreign-language translations, so fans can enjoy the game in German, French, Italian, and Chinese just as Westwood intended.

The remastered version of Blade Runner will feature updated character models and animations, upscaled cutscenes using machine learning algorithms, widescreen resolution support, keyboard and controller customization, and much more. However, fans will be pleased to learn that the original look and feel of the game is being preserved.

Developed by Nightdive Studios and published by Alcon Entertainment, Blade Runner: Enhanced Edition is expected across all platforms in 2020.

Dinosaurs might have gone extinct millions of years ago, but we are still obsessed with them. The evidence lies in the numerous dinosaur movies and video games that have been produced in the last few decades.

Game Consoles and Dinosaur Games

If you are a gamer who loves dinosaurs, then we have the perfect list for you. Play these dinosaur games on your console to have the best time ever!

1. Dino Crisis

Considered to be one of the best big budget dinosaur games to have ever been created, Dino Crisis will keep you on the edge of your seat. It is reminiscent of the of the Resident Evil series but with the addition of dinosaurs. You will be surprised at how intimidating the T-Rex and velociraptors can be as you try to survive.

2. ARK: Survival Evolved

Ark Survival Evolved

ARK: Survival Evolved may not appeal to everyone, but that does not make it any less impressive. It will give you a lot of flexibility as a player. You will be able to roam about freely and take important gameplay decisions. Your task in the game is to create a life for yourself when you are stranded on an island, the catch being that your co-habitants are dinosaurs. As you perform necessary survival tasks, you have to either kill or tame the dinosaurs. The performance and technical backwardness of the game make it a little difficult to play, but the graphics are stunning.

Rumour: Disney Interactive works on new Tron game

Rumour: Disney Interactive works on new Tron game
Published by: wes213 on Sunday, February 01, 2009
Tagged: Gaming, Xbox 360,

I know a bunch of the old school guys in here know the name TRON and may have even played the Tron 2.0: Killer App game for the first XBOX and if this includes you you might find this rumour to be a ray of hope, i know i want it.

A Variety.com blog reported: Disney Interactive Studios is starting work on a new Tron game at the same time it's joining the long list of companies laying off staff and consolidating development studios.

A spokersperson declined to comment, but sources tell me DIS is talking to developers about a "Tron" game that will be tied to "TR2N," the film sequel that its sibling studio is producing. The movie, which will star Jeff Bridges, Garret Hedlund and Olivia Wilde and be directed by Joseph Kosinski, is tentatively scheduled for 2011, which is when we can expect to see the game too.

This is, of course, a no-brainer. "Tron" was a movie about videogames that spawned several successful arcade games (classics of my youth), as well as a sequel in 2003. So with a new movie coming out, what were the odds Disney was not going to do a new videogame?Tronlightcycles

Nonetheless, it's exciting news to have a full fledged new Tron coming. And it's good news that the movie is more than two years out (i'll go out on a limb and say Disney won't release it in the Winter), since that means the game will have a solid amount of production time.

But it's not all light cycles and ricocheting discs at Disney Interactive. The media conglomerate's videogame arm laid off almost 30 people at its Propaganda Games studio in Vancover, maker of last year's fairly well received (I thought it was pretty good), so-so seller "Turok." According to Kotaku, that's tied to the cancellation of "Turok 2." From what I can gather, a sequel isn't necessarily dead, since Disney retains the rights it to the character it optioned from Classic Media, and two teams remain at work at Propaganda. But it is likely a follow-up is on hold, or back to the drawing board.

Also feeling the pinch are a pair of DIS's six internal developers: Fall Line and Avalanche. The two Salt Lake City-based studios are merging together into one entity that will focus on games based on Disney animated films. That has already been Avalanche Games' raison d'etre, while Fall Line's latest game was "Ultimate Band," which didn't sell too well or win over many critics (Variety's Chris Dahlen panned it). A Disney rep said that Fall Line will bring Avalanche expertise on Wii and DS, which are more than ever the platforms that matter for kid-focused titles. Upcoming games in the works from the newly merged studios include "Toy Story 3" for 2010 and, though it hasn't yet been announced, probably "The Princess and the Frog" for this December.

Other Disney studios unaffected by the layoffs include U.K.-based Black Rock, maker of "Pure" (a racing game I loved that just missed my top ten for 2008), Junction Point in Texas, Warren Spector's company that's rumored to be making some kind of platformer starring Mickey Mouse, and China-based Gamestar, which does outsourcing work.

Map Pack Coming For TUROK

Map Pack Coming For TUROK
Published by: wes213 on Thursday, March 27, 2008
Tagged: Gaming, Live Marketplace, Xbox 360, Xbox Live,

Good news for fans of dinosaur-slaying game Turok in the form of the Velociraptor Pack.

Here is a full run down of when and what you can expect from the new map pack:
The Velociraptor Pack will be available on Xbox LIVE Marketplace for 400 Microsoft Points and on PS3's Network for $4.99 starting on Thursday, March 27, 2008

Two of the maps are completely new multiplayer maps, one is a new co-op map and two are relit versions of popular multiplayer maps available with the game.

Co-Op – A brand new Turok co-op map for 2-4 players. In this co-op map your Whiskey Company squad has been captured and is being held in a Mendel-Gruman facility designed for holding dinosaurs. You and your team have to break out and make it to the rescue chopper before the Wolf Pack troops decide to feed you to the captured raptors.

  • Desolation – A brand new swamp-based map where simple structures are set up alongside a rock cliff to allow helicopters and transports into the area to bring in supplies. There are many hiding spots on this multi-level map which enables numerous quiet kill opportunities.

  • Sentinel – Another new multiplayer map and one of the largest Turok maps to date. The setting takes place at the top of a mountain around one of Kane’s orbital defense arrays - the very base that shot down the Whiskey Company ship from orbit in the single-player campaign. Also, the presence of a few large dinosaurs on the map can make things very interesting during multiplayer combat.

  • Inconclusive Tests – This time the Testing Grounds map takes place at night and offers a different view of the world that now contains more dark hiding spots. A word of caution -- watch out for the raptors.

  • A Rivalry Continues – As the name suggests, the struggle for the compound from A Heated Rivalry is not over and has extended into the eerie darkness of the night.
