Activision announced today that a video game is in development based on 20th Century Fox’s X-Men 3. X-Men: The Official Movie Game (working title) will be available in stores this May for the Xbox and Xbox 360 video game system from Microsoft, the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system, the Nintendo GameCube, Nintendo DS, Game Boy Advance and PC.
Co-written by Zak Penn, the screenwriter of movies X2: X-Men United and X-Men: The Last Stand, and legendary comic book writer Chris Claremont, X-Men: The Official Movie Game (working title) immerses players in an original storyline that provides the back-story for the upcoming X-Men: The Last Stand feature film.
From Major Nelson (Microsoft Xbox Live Director of Programming):
There was some misinformation floating around last week that I wanted to clear up. Specifically, that folks are cheating at Hexic and earning achievements or getting high scores that they got by cheating. I got an email from the Xbox Live Arcade team where they told me:
We're seeing reports of people hacking Hexic HD using the European Kiosk disk hack. The truth of the matter is that we actually removed the code from the kiosk version of the game that awards achievements and Gamerscore and posts high scores so the reports are false. While Hackers can play the game and trigger the achievement awarded animation as if is still there but they don't actually earn anything since they can't connect to Xbox Live.

We've worn our fingers to the bone the past few weeks (just for you) playing through the 18 titles available when the system launched. While the offering is diverse, many of the games are merely visually tweaked versions from the older consoles. Worse, Xbox 360 games can cost a whopping $60 — roughly $10 more than games for older systems.
